After finishing up the Maze Runner series, we can’t get enough of Wes Ball. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes was his latest movie before he gears up to make the Legend of Zelda movie. What weirdly seems like the start of a new trilogy, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes takes place after all of the apes have already established colonies on earth.

Caesar from the first three movies is long dead, but his legacy lives on. The movie wrestles with what it means to follow a leader and how iconic leader’s messages and morals can become distorted over time.
