The next episode of May-usical features special musical expert guest Lindsay who brought the extremely influential 1972 Cabaret. The movie follows Sally Bowles (Liza Minnelli) and her companion Brian Roberts (Michael York) as they try and navigate Germany in 1931.
Sally seems oblivious to the world around her and just wants to enjoy her time performing at the Cabaret. She’s a brilliant metaphor for apathy in times of crisis. Cabaret does not hold back. It makes a stark split between the joy of the Cabaret and the hate crimes constantly becoming normal.
